2) the theory and rigorous methodology used in developing Item Response Theory (IRT) and Computer Adaptive Testing (CATs) for PROMIS measures and testing their validity.
3) how IRT offers promise for addressing practical measurement problems in health-related research that have been difficult to solve through classical methods.
